Poverty in rural Central Asia drives many men to seek work in Russia for months or years at a time. Although labor migration ensures economic survival of many rural families year-to-year, its long-term consequences are horrific – the current increases in family breakdown and substance abuse and especially the rising rate of HIV infection can all be directly linked to labor migration.

Our development organization’s projects take a holistic approach to health education, addressing the facts related to sexual health, HIV infection and other health issues within a moral framework where deeper issues are also addressed. In traditional Central Asian culture, such subjects are normally discussed in single sex groups. Almost 20 years after the fall of the Berlin wall, East Germany still suffers the legacy of communism.  Despair is reflected in every aspect of life and many have resigned themselves to a future without hope. 

Into this region, OM Germany’s newest outreach team wants to demonstrate and share God’s desire to bring hope and a future through Jesus Christ.  The team plans to run an evangelistic youth café, to build relationships and share their lives with young people in the East German city of Halle an der Saale.  All team members will receive practical training and discipleship.

Team members working with a local church could be helping with some of the following: bible studies, worship, youth work, Sunday School, children's programmes, one-to-one discipleship, training and development, serving practically, teaching and other involvement in church programmes and special events.

American Football is a rapidly growing sport in Hungary. Over the last 7 years 36 teams have been started.  There is a desperate need for coaches who can help. Coach in a local club and minister with a local church planter to build meaningful relationships through this growing sport.

Baseball is a growing sport in Hungary but still in the development stages. We work with local churches to help them develop a sports ministry that will reach out into their communities.  By organizing tournaments and providing training for coaches, you and the sports team will help more churches to get involved in this dynamic form of outreach. This position is for an experienced football (soccer) coach to help with a church-based football club (multiple teams). The sports club works with children and youth (ages 9 and older).

1) coach at least one of the teams (which are part of the church's weekly sports ministry)

3) Since none of the existing coaches with this ministry have a coaching license, we are looking for a coach who can train the existing coaches and help improve their coaching skills.

1) The Ultimate Frisbee player (or coach) would be assisting local church teams or helping to establish new teams. 2) This sport is very easy and economical for churches to utilize for ministry, whether to existing teams or to start new teams with children, youth, and adults. And since it has only been in Ukraine for a few years, you would have a chance to help lay the foundation for future sports ministry through Ultimate Frisbee.

The responsibilities of an archivist would be to research, plan and organize systems and procedures for the safekeeping of historically valuable documents, photographs, slides, films, sound recordings, and electronically stored records for OM.  An archivist will manage and maintain collections and help to make them more accessible and available to a wide range of users; these can vary from historical researchers and academics to schools and private individuals.

OM is enhancing its IT and communications systems.  As part of this process, we are looking for a Requiremets Analyst to work with Field personnel to accurately capture and analyse OM's business processes and requirements.

OM's International Communications Department is in need of a Graphic Artist. This role will require the conceptualisation and production of materials to effectively communicate OM's marketing and communications strategies using a wide range of media - through web, print, and multimedia. Familiarity with Adobe software is strongly encouraged, but not a requirement

We need one person to help us maintain the beautiful grounds around the site at the UK National office in Shropshire, and to work on external projects around the buildings.  This will involve grass maintenance, gardening and large shrubbery maintenance.
Supervision will be provided by our maintenance manager.  This is a part time role;  someone interested in serving full-time could use the rest of their time helping the maintenance dept.

Celebrate the New Year on outreach in the UK, before heading off to Sweden. Live for the next 3 to 6 months in Råslätt, a suburb of Jönköping with many immigrants. Reach out to needy peoples from different religious backgrounds together with the local church. The focus in Sweden will be threefold: close to God, close to each other and close to the world. Different opportunities include a youth center, public schools, sports, scouts and a second hand-store.

Celebrate the New Year on outreach in the UK, before heading off to Switzerland to join the inner-city ministry team in Zurich. Help out at a drop-in centre for drug addicts and children's club, work alongside the Salvation Army in the red-light district, build friendships with your neighbours and go on prayer walks. Take more initiative and responsibility as you develop your ministry.

You will be responsible for all accommodation bookings, making room allocations, coordinating with our volunteers for the beds and rooms to be clean and ready, communicating meal arrangements to our cook and working on all the logistics for visitors and overnight guests.

Our training centre is used mainly for training events and seminars, for groups coming on mission exposure trips and for other overnight visitors.  It is a residential Training Centre with 40 beds and conference facilities.

You will be part of OM Lifehope's international community, living and working alongside people from at least 25 different nationalities.  You will attend our daily devotional times every morning and our weekly prayer nights every Thursday.

We need an enthusiastic person to manage our IT systems.  You will help with computer problems and maintain our email and file server. Although previous experience in IT is a big advantage, you will be trained on-the-job and supported by OM’s international technical support team. Besides your IT work there are plenty of opportunities to be involved with our ministry teams if wanted.

OM UK's National Headquarters team, based in Shropshire, England, represents OM's worldwide (in over 100 countries) work to the UK church, and helps to resource that work with finance and people.  We serve about 400 OM UK workers serving in the UK and overseas.  The Systems Administrator’s role is to maintain and develop the IT facilities for the busy national office, and those working in regional offices. There are about 100 users nationally that require IT support; the Systems Administrator role is vital for this team to be as effective as possible
